We have also received the following report from Charlie Burke, Regional Development Officer, East Asia-Pacific, ICC:
"Putting Clads on: I found the Clads to be a little hard at first to put on over the top of my pads but as I got used to it and finally read the instructions it became easier. The fact they can be easily stored in your cricket bag and used when playing in "colored clothing" makes it easier when travelling as well as eliminates those moments you remember, 'Oh it's a one day game!'.
Wearing Clads: I never really noticed the difference having the Clads on or just using the pads as normal. The only thing I really noticed was the fact you sweated more with more fabric but this also means less sweat is on the actual pads and you can of course wash the Clads. Running between wickets I never noticed any slipping or uncomfortable feeling, they felt snug onto the pads and I felt confident that the Clads were doing the job. I did cop a little bit of slack (sic) from the boys about them but a few of them tried the Clads out and they echo my thoughts. Overall I thought (sic) the Clads are a great idea and cost effective by not having to buy another pair of pads." |
